Canoeing/Kayaking/Paddle Boats

Enjoy a quiet canoe ride on the quiet waters of a large pond near Menominee Park. This city park also provides kayaks, paddle boats, and water wheels. It is expected this will be a very popular activity so schedule your time at the park accordingly. While in the area you can also enjoy a visit to the Menominee Park Zoo. One to three persons may ride in the canoes; the kayaks are for a single rider. You should plan to bring swimwear, water or tennis shoes, cover-ups such as a t-shirt or towel, sun screen, and a one-piece swimsuit.

Chaperones/Directors will need to be prepared to sign a waiver before the Pathfinders can use the equipment. The one signing the waiver must be 18 years and older.

Download the PDF form and fill it out. Bring your completed form with you to this activity.

Ever been sailing? Try it out at Camporee! Depending on wind conditions sailing can be calm and relaxing, or wild and woolly. We are partnering with a professional sailing school that will provide 30 sail boats of various sizes. Certified sailors from Oshkosh will be providing brief instruction for fun on the lake. Come prepared to get wet and maybe even take a turn sailing yourself! Though we don’t have time to teach an honor in sailing, we guarantee you’ll have a fun time out on the waters of Lake Winnebago! There may also be some opportunity to experience “paddle boarding,” an exciting new aquatic sport!
