Persons with Physical Disabilities

Physically Challenged 1Those needing extra help to move about the Camporee grounds should contact their local conference youth director, who have access to golf carts. Persons with physical disabilities are permitted to bring a one-seat personal electric convenience scooter, as long as it is designed for use by a single person and is used in this way.

Services Provided

  • Persons in wheelchairs should sit with their clubs at the Main Stage for the evening programs.
  • Automobile access for physically disabled persons parking spots are located at many of the paved parking lots in the Camporee grounds. Look for the Physically Disabled parking signs. Please display your Physically Disabled placard so you don’t get towed. These are first come first serve basis.

  • Shower stall accessibility is located at the shower tents.
  • On-site Bus shuttle information can be found on the website.

During the Camporee, motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, personal transportation machines such as Segways and all-terrain vehicles are not allowed.
  • Golf cart rental is arranged only by your local Conference/Union Youth Director.  If you have a need for a cart shuttle service at the Camporee, please contact your local Youth Director.

View the Camporee map for bus stop locations.

Medical Breathing Devices (CPAP)

At each Camporee there are individuals that use special breathing machines while they sleep. We are suggesting you bring your own power source such as a battery pack breathing unit, as there is no special camping area just for breathing machines. A large percentage of the campground has electrical power outlets in camping areas.

Anyone with this type of need should contact Vern Byrd for possible accommodations. If prior accommodations are not made, you will have to make your own arrangements to stay at a local hotel.

Services Not Provided

Private off-site excursions
Transportation to/from local air, bus, and rail station

Please contact the Physical Disabilities Coordinator – TBA – with any questions.

Reusable Camping Equipment & Leftover Food Items

Black Recycling Symbol 2If you have attended past camporees, you may have seen a large number of tents, chairs, sleeping bags, etc., in or near the dumpsters at the end of the event. We are changing that this year!

Many clubs will pre-order and pick up their camping gear in Gillette, WY, and they are unable to take it with them when they return home, because they may be flying, for instance, or for other reasons. If your club is planning to leave items behind, please consider donating it by placing it in one of the Donation Trailers, which will be located at each Union exit from their camping area.

Hours of operation:
Tuesday-Friday 10:00am – 3:00pm
Sabbath 2:00pm – 12:00am midnight

Ice cube 026

Keep the refrigerated food in your camp colder than 41 degrees at all time. Restock the ice frequently and use a thermometer to make sure it is staying cold. If it becomes warm, bacteria will begin to grow and multiply and you will get sick as a result of eating it. This precaution applies to cut fruits such as melon as well.

Bring a quiet running generator and long power strips to provide charging stations for your Pathfinders and staff to charge their cell phones, etc. Have this located at your conference headquarters. Keep in mind those camping around the charging station and use a quiet generator.
