Off-site Sporting Activities

Unleash your inner athlete and enjoy a variety of sports around Gillette.

Basketball Tournament

Teams should be made up with Pathfinders ages 13 – 16.

  • There will be girls and boys teams
  • Buses will transport teams to the tournament complex
  • You will be given a schedule, showing when your team with play
  • If you don’t show up your team will forfeit.
  • Our goal is to have two game eliminations, however this will be determined based on how many teams are registered

Volunteers Needed:

  • If you are a certified referee and you would like to volunteer at the tournament please contact us.
  • If you would like to volunteer to help keep score or operate the time clock and you have experience please contact us.
  • We are also looking for volunteers to manage the YMCA open gym for pick-up games. If you are interested please contact us.

Registering your team – please provide the Pathfinder Club name and the City, State and Country, because multiple clubs just might have the same name.

Campbell County Recreation Center (Racquetball, Swimming, rock climbing)

Enjoy this beautiful state of the art health facility, just a 10 minute bus ride from the campground. You will enjoy the following activities:

  • Racquetball – If you’ve never played racquetball, now is your chance for a fast paced activity!
  • Indoor Swimming – Cool off by swimming in the two indoor swimming pools. One lazy river pool. Please pay careful attention to the hours for swimming.
  • Rock Climbing – Harness up and test your strength with various rock climbing routes.
  • Pickleball – is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes.
  • Tennis – Have fun and enjoy the challenge of a tennis match.
  • Volleyball – Be a team player and have fun playing this exciting sport.

Campbell County School District Aquatics Center

Campbell County School District takes swimming seriously. Swimming lessons are a part of the curriculum from PK-6th grade. Their facility has three diving boards, a play area that goes up to 5 feet in depth and a smaller kiddie pool with toys.

BTP Golf Outing

Golf TournamentWhat: BTP Golf Outing

When: Thursday, August 8, 2024; Check-in @ 7:00am; Shotgun Tee Time 8:00am

Where: Bell Nob Golf Course – 4600 Overdale Dr., Gillette, WY 82718

Cost: $100 per person

Why: Relax, have some fun, win prizes and play golf

About the Gold Outing:

  • Teams of four will play in a scramble format (everyone hits and team picks which shot to play).
  • The tournament is 18 holes with a golf cart.
  • Each player receives: 1 Sleeve of BTP logo golf balls and a commemorative towel.
  • Awards luncheon will be served in the clubhouse at the end of the round.
  • Mulligans for purchase – $5/each; up to 3 may be purchased ($15 total)

Prizes will be awarded for:

  1. Longest Drive (Front & Back 9)
  2. Closest to the Pin (Front & Back 9)
  3. Putting contest at the turn
  4. $10,000 Hole-in-One
  5. Prizes for Hole-in-One on all other par threes

Energy Capital Sports Complex

The Energy Capital Sports Complex has beautiful soccer/football fields and well-groomed baseball/softball diamonds. There is also a splash pad/playground onsite. A variety of sports options will be available at this location.

The only way to arrive is by bus, as we will be monitoring the entrance so no one else will be entering during the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Mountain Biking

The city of Gillette has many beautiful parks and mountain biking trails. Pathfinders will learn the basics of bike safety and maintenance as well as experience a fun off road adventure. Mountain bikes and helmets will be provided.

This activity lasts approximately one hour.

Open to all ages with a BTP wristband, accompanied by an adult staff member with a wristband. Only a max of 50 people may attend at a time.

Soccer Tournament

Participate in the Pathfinder World Cup, a 8-member team round-robin soccer tournament (requires pre-registration) or just play a friendly game of soccer for the fun of it. Players can take advantage of the indoor or outdoor fields. Soccer clinics will also be offered for those interested in improving their soccer skills.
